Well now, let me tell ya, if you ain’t heard about Evo 2023, then you been missin’ out! That Evo thing, it’s like the granddaddy of all fighting game tournaments. Folks come from all over, just to show off their skills, and this year, it was Guilty Gear Strive, or GGST as them fancy folks call it, that had all the buzz. If ya don’t know, it’s a real big deal in the world of gaming, and it sure brought in a heap of competition.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I ain’t too good with them high-tech gadgets, but I can tell when something’s a big ol’ deal. Evo 2023, that’s the one folks been talkin’ about everywhere. They had a big ol’ prize pool, and folks was really fightin’ hard for that cash! The prize pool, it was sittin’ at a nice $25,000, and first place, well, they walked away with $10,000, which sure ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at!
So what all happened in them GGST brackets, you ask? Well, lemme tell ya about them rounds. It started off with Round 1 pools. You had all these players, right, from all sorts of places, comin’ in to try their luck. Some folks did good, and others… well, let’s just say they didn’t make it too far. But that’s how it goes in these kinds of tournaments, ain’t it?
Round 2 and 3 came on real quick, and you could tell the competition was heatin’ up. Some of them folks were really showin’ their stuff. There were some wild fights, and it was hard to tell who was gonna make it through. Ain’t nobody’s spot safe, not even them big names who had been in the scene for years. It was all about skill, nerves, and maybe a little luck too.
Now, if we’re talkin’ winners and losers, well, there was sure some drama. In the Winners Bracket, there was a lotta folks who kept holdin’ onto their spot, just inchin’ closer to that big ol’ prize. You had players like Jonathan Tene and Tyurara goin’ head-to-head, and let me tell ya, it was a real nail-biter. On the other side, in the Losers Bracket, you had a whole bunch of folks who fought hard but just couldn’t get it done, like Nidaime and BlitzkrieG. They put up a good fight, though!
Come the Finals, though, that’s when the real excitement started. The best of the best was there, and when it was all said and done, it was Kawakami and Summit showin’ their stuff in the Winners Finals. Boy, you couldn’t take your eyes off the screen! Summit ended up takin’ the win, and that was a big ol’ moment for ’em. They earned that prize, that’s for sure.
So there you have it, Evo 2023, GGST bracket in a nutshell. A whole lotta folks put in a lotta work, and the fights sure didn’t disappoint. Ain’t no doubt that next year, folks’ll be comin’ back to try their luck again, and I reckon we’ll be seein’ even more folks gettin’ into it. Who knows, maybe you’ll be watchin’ it all happen live next time around! Ain’t no better way to spend a weekend, I tell ya that much!
