Alright, let’s talk about this baseball game, the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants. I don’t know much about fancy stats or nothin’, but I can tell ya who won and maybe a little bit about how it happened.
Game Recap: Cubs vs. Giants
So, I heard the Cubs beat them Giants, somethin’ like 5 to 2. That was back on June 18th, 2024. Heard tell there were a whole bunch of folks watchin’, maybe thirty-six thousand, somethin’ like that. The game, it took about two hours and ten minutes. Now, that’s a pretty quick game, not like them long ones where you’re sittin’ there forever, waitin’ for somethin’ to happen.
Another time, the Cubs, they beat the Giants again. This time it was 4 to 2. That was a while back, in 2022. More folks there that time too, about thirty thousand. That game took longer though, over three hours. Guess they were just pokin’ around out there that day. Don’t know why it takes ‘em so long sometimes.
Just recent, though, on June 25th, 2024, the Giants, they whupped the Cubs, 5 to 1. See, it goes back and forth. That’s baseball for ya.
Some Players and Big Hits
- One fella, Ian Happ, he hit a real long ball for the Cubs, they said it went 442 feet! That’s like, way out there. He plays for the Cubs, y’know.
- Then there’s this other fella, Wilmer Flores, plays for the Giants I reckon. He got a walk with the bases loaded. That means he got to go to first base and another fella got to score a run, see? That happened in the ninth inning, so it musta been important.
I heard tell about some fella named Willie Mays. They say he played a whole lotta games for the Giants, more than anybody else. Thousands of games! Musta been pretty good, I guess. And this other fella, Mel Ott, he played a lot too, but not quite as much as Willie.
Team Talk – Who’s Better?
Now, if you wanna know who’s better, the Giants or the Cubs, that’s hard to say. One year, the Giants won more games, 88 I heard. They scored a bunch of runs too, more than 700. That’s a lot of runnin’ around them bases, let me tell ya. The Cubs, they won 86 games that year, so they weren’t too far behind. They scored a lot too, over 750 runs. Seems like they both pretty good teams.
It sounds like the Giants are doin’ alright this year, sittin’ in fourth place in their division, the NL West, whatever that means. They got their schedule and all, playin’ all the time. You can follow along with the games if you want, see who’s winnin’ and losin’. They got these things called box scores, tells ya all the stuff that happened, who hit what and all that.
Just My Thoughts
So, that’s about all I know about these Cubs and Giants. They play baseball, sometimes one wins, sometimes the other. They hit balls, run around, and try to score more runs than the other team. Sounds simple enough, even for an old gal like me. I like watchin’ when I can, but mostly I just hear about it from the neighbors. They always yellin’ and cheerin’ when the game is on.
Final Words
So that’s what I think about the Chicago Cubs and the San Francisco Giants. They are both good baseball teams and it’s always fun to see who wins. Sometimes one wins, and then the other time, the other team wins. That’s why it’s exciting! It’s just like life I guess. Sometimes you’re up, sometimes you’re down, just keep swinging!
