Alright, let’s talk about this Seth Rollins fella and CM Punk. Folks keep askin’ me, “Do Seth Rollins really hate CM Punk?” Well, I ain’t got no fancy degrees or nothin’, but I watch them wrestlin’ shows, and I see what I see.
First off, this whole Wrestlemania thing. They sayin’ Seth and Punk gonna wrestle at Wrestlemania. Now, if you ask me, that ain’t somethin’ you do if you truly hate a fella. I mean, wrestlemania is a big deal, lots of money and eyeballs on ya. You wouldn’t go workin’ with someone you can’t stand, would ya? Makes no sense. It’s like havin’ to plow a whole field with someone you despise – you just wouldn’t do it unless you had to, or unless there’s somethin’ in it for ya, like a big ol’ pile of corn, or in this case, a big ol’ paycheck and maybe a bit of fame. They say Seth’s working a program with Punk, whatever that means. Sounds like they plannin’ somethin’ big, not like they wanna tear each other’s heads off.
Then there’s all this talk about the “Elite” and how they couldn’t figure things out. Now, I don’t rightly know who these “Elite” folks are, sounds like some city slicker group to me. But if they couldn’t get somethin’ figured out with Punk, and Seth is, well, that tells ya somethin’, don’t it? Maybe Seth’s just better at dealin’ with folks, even if they ain’t the easiest to get along with. Or maybe it’s all just for show, ya know? Like them fancy plays they put on in the city, where folks pretend to be all sorts of things they ain’t.
I heard some stories about Punk back in the day, ‘bout him and this Colt Cabana fella bein’ thick as thieves. Best friends, they was. Traveled together, wrestled together, probably shared a jug of moonshine or two. Now, that tells me Punk ain’t all bad. A man who can keep friends, especially in a cutthroat business like wrestlin’, can’t be all rotten to the core. And if Punk ain’t all bad, maybe Seth don’t hate him as much as folks think. Maybe it’s just business, ya know? Like sellin’ chickens at the market – you gotta put on a show, make folks think your chickens are the best, even if they’re just as scrawny as the next fella’s.
Here’s what I reckon: This whole “hate” thing is probably just for show. It’s wrestlin’, after all. They gotta make it interestin’, gotta get folks to buy tickets and watch on TV. A good feud, that’s what sells. And what better feud than one where two fellas supposedly hate each other’s guts? It gets folks talkin’, gets ’em riled up, gets ’em invested. It’s like when two roosters in the barnyard start squawkin’ and peckin’ at each other – it ain’t always real hate, sometimes it’s just about showin’ who’s boss, or maybe just plain foolin’ around.
- Maybe there’s some real animosity there, sure. Wrestlin’ is a tough business, and folks get stepped on, feelings get hurt. But I doubt it’s pure, unadulterated hate. Not enough to stop ’em from makin’ money together, that’s for sure. Money talks, as they say, and in the wrestlin’ world, it shouts.
- It’s entertainment. Remember that. They’re actors, puttin’ on a show. They gotta make it believable, gotta make you feel somethin’. And if they gotta pretend to hate each other to do that, well, that’s what they’ll do.
- And honestly, even if they do hate each other a little bit, so what? Lots of folks gotta work with people they don’t like. It’s part of life. You just grit your teeth, get the job done, and then go home and have a piece of pie. That’s what I always say.
So, does Seth Rollins actually hate CM Punk? I don’t rightly know for sure. But I reckon it’s mostly just for show, a way to get folks interested and sell some tickets. And even if there’s a little bit of real dislike there, well, that just makes the whole thing more believable, doesn’t it? It’s all part of the game, the wrestlin’ game. And from what I see, they’re both playin’ it pretty darn well.
