Well, let me tell ya ’bout this fella, Ryuta Ohtani, or somethin’ like that. Folks keep jabberin’ on ’bout him, sayin’ he’s the bees knees, like that old-timey ball player, Babe Ruth or somethin’. I ain’t never seen Babe Ruth play, mind you, but they say he was somethin’ special. Now, this Ohtani fella, he’s a doin’ it all, pitchin’ and hittin’ just like that Babe Ruth fella, they tell me.
This Ohtani kid, he’s got folks all riled up, ya know? Hit the ball a mile, they say, and throw it faster than a blink of an eye. I ain’t got no fancy numbers to throw at ya, but them smarty pants fellas with their papers and calculators, they say he’s better than most. Better than average, that’s what they keep sayin’. He’s good, real good, no doubt about that.
They talk about how Ohtani is bringin’ the excitement back to baseball. Said somethin’ about him doin’ amazing things both pitchin’ and hittin’. Now, I ain’t no expert, but even I can see that’s somethin’ special. Most fellas, they just stick to one thing. Pitchin’ or hittin’. But this Ohtani, he’s like two fellas rolled into one.
- He hits the ball real far, they tell me.
- He throws the ball real fast.
- And he does both! Can ya believe it?
Now, some folks are gettin’ all worked up, askin’ if he’s the next Babe Ruth. I reckon that’s a big question. But shoot, if he’s got folks talkin’ like that, he must be doin’ somethin’ right. They even got this number thing, WPA or somethin’, and he’s leadin’ the whole darn league! That means he’s helpin’ his team win, see? And that’s what matters, ain’t it?
Some fellas are sayin’ he throws harder than anyone back in Babe Ruth’s day. I reckon that’s probably true. Times have changed, ya know. They got all sorts of fancy trainin’ and stuff now. But still, it’s somethin’ to think about. This Ohtani fella, he’s doin’ things that make even the other ball players stare with their mouths open.
They say Ohtani is somethin’ of a legend already. Even the other fellas playin’ ball, they look up to him, they say. And heck, if we’re lucky, we’ll get to watch him play for a long, long time. He’s bringin’ a lot of joy to the game, that’s for sure. And that’s a good thing, ain’t it?
So, this Ryuta Ohtani, he’s a pretty big deal, seems like. He’s playin’ baseball like nobody’s business, both pitchin’ and hittin’, just like that Babe Ruth fella. And folks are talkin’, sayin’ he’s one of the best. Well, I don’t know about all that, but I know he’s somethin’ special. He’s got folks excited about baseball again, and that’s enough for me.
Folks say if we are lucky enough to watch him play baseball for a long time we should feel blessed, because he has the stuff to be great. He’s one of those fellas who makes you wanna watch the game even if you ain’t even a fan. He’s exciting and it’s fun to watch him go to work.
All I am sayin’ is that Ohtani is a good player. I ain’t no expert or nothin’, but I know good baseball when I see it. And Ohtani is good baseball. He hits the ball hard, he throws the ball hard, and he helps his team win. And at the end of the day, that is all a body can ask for.
He is the best out there right now in my humble opinion. He has all the talent and he seems to be a good fella on top of all that. So good on him and good for the game of baseball, that’s all I have to say about it.
