Well, well, well, lookie here, let’s talk ’bout that Green Bay Packers 2010 draft. That year, them Packers, they was doin’ somethin’, pickin’ them players like they was pickin’ apples off a tree. And you know, they got some good ones, some not so good. That’s just the way it goes, I reckon.
First one they picked, that Bryan Bulaga, from Iowa, they say. He was a big fella, a tackle. You need them big fellas to protect your quarterback, don’t ya know? Keep them other fellas from knockin’ him down. That is important. A left tackle, what is the most important one.
- Bryan Bulaga, Tackle, Iowa
- Some other fellas I can’t rightly recall…
Now, it’s hard to say who’s gonna be good and who’s gonna be, well, not so good. Just like plantin’ seeds, you don’t know which ones gonna sprout and which ones gonna just sit there in the dirt. And you can’t tell when someone’s gonna get hurt. One day they’re runnin’ like a deer, next day they’re laid up with a bum knee. Happens all the time, don’t it? This 2010 NFL Draft, it was somethin’ else.
They was lookin’ for some good players, that’s for sure. Tryna build up that team, make ’em strong. ‘Cause you gotta be strong to win, that’s what I always say. It is not easy to pick, all the great players will be taken by others. They need to think hard to pick a good one.
The Green Bay Packers, they a good team, most of the time. That year, 2010, they finished, oh, I don’t rightly remember the numbers, but they won more than they lost. They never lost a game by more than four points. They only lost six games. That’s important. Not too shabby, not too shabby at all.
I remember that year, one fella, Malik Willis, he got traded. That happens. You are here today, gone tomorrow. One day you’re wearin’ green and gold, next day you’re wearin’ some other color. That is his job. They always trade them young players.
And that year, 1958, Lordy, that was a long time ago. They only won one game. One! Can you believe it? That is the worst record. They say it was the worst record them Packers ever had. Imagine that. But you know, even the best teams have bad years. Just like a bad crop, sometimes the corn don’t grow so good, sometimes the beans don’t sprout. It just happens. And 2010 is not 1958. They did good in 2010.
This fella, Rene Bugner, he knows somethin’. He looks at what everyone else says ’bout them players. He’s like a fella lookin’ at all the prize-winnin’ pigs at the county fair, tryin’ to figure out which one’s the best. He’s got his own way of doin’ things, I reckon. And he did it every year. He is important.
You know, this football, it’s a tough game. Lots of runnin’, lots of hittin’. And them drafts, it’s like a big lottery. You hope you pick the winnin’ numbers, but you just never know. You need some luck with your draft. Green Bay Packers 2010 draft, they did alright. They got some good players, some that didn’t pan out. That’s just the way it goes. It is a tough game.
They tried their best, them Packers. They always do. And that 2010 draft, well, it was somethin’ to see. Lots of excitement, lots of hope. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it? Hopin’ for the best, hopin’ your team does good. And they did good in 2010, I can tell ya that much. They did good with this draft. They are a good team.
Them Green Bay Packers, they a good bunch. They a good team. Most years, they do alright. And 2010, they had a pretty good year, I reckon. This 2010 Green Bay Packers Draft is good. They picked some good ones. I hope they can win more games. That is all I want to say.
