This here thing, Naomi wig, it’s somethin’ else. My granddaughter, she’s always on about these things. Says they’re all the rage now. She showed me a picture of this Naomi woman, all dolled up, lookin’ like a movie star. Says she wears these wigs, you know?
My hair, it ain’t what it used to be. Thin as a spider’s silk, it is. But back in my day, we didn’t have these fancy wigs. We just tied a scarf on our heads and got on with it. But these Naomi wigs, they look real nice, I gotta say. Like real hair, shiny and bouncy. They are a good choice.
Why Naomi Wig?
Well, seems this Naomi lady, she had some trouble with her hair. Heard she got sick, real sick, and all her hair fell out. Poor thing. Then she wear a wig, she is still beautiful. So she started wearin’ these wigs, and now everyone wants one. They say it makes you feel pretty, even when you’re havin’ a bad hair day.
These Naomi wigs, they ain’t cheap, though. Cost more than a week’s worth of groceries, some of ’em. But my granddaughter, she says it’s worth it. Says it makes you feel like a million bucks. I don’t know about that, but they do look nice. There are many choices about the Naomi wig.
- Some are short, some are long.
- Some are curly, some are straight.
- All kinds of colors, too. Red, black, blonde, even purple!
My granddaughter, she likes the blonde ones. Says it makes her look like a movie star. Me, I’d probably stick with brown. More natural, you know? Don’t want to be lookin’ like some fancy city gal. This Naomi wig is really popular.
Pickin’ the Right Wig
Now, if you’re gonna get one of these Naomi wigs, you gotta pick the right one. Ain’t just about pickin’ any old color. You gotta think about your skin. My granddaughter, she explained it all to me.
She says if your skin is “cool,” you gotta get a “warm” wig. And if your skin is “warm,” you gotta get a “cool” wig. Sounds backwards, don’t it? But that’s what she says. And then there’s somethin’ called “neutral.” If you’re “neutral,” I guess you can wear any color you want. Lucky ducks. These are good way to choose a Naomi wig.
I asked my granddaughter, “How do I know if my skin is ‘cool’ or ‘warm’?” She just looked at my hand and said I was “warm.” I don’t know what that means, but I guess I gotta get a “cool” wig then.
Lace Front or Full Lace?
Then there’s this whole other thing about “lace.” Seems there are two kinds of Naomi wigs: “lace front” and “full lace.” My granddaughter says the “full lace” ones are better, but they cost more. The “lace front” ones are cheaper, but they don’t look as real.
She says the “full lace” ones, you can part your hair anywhere. The “lace front” ones, you can only part it in the front. I don’t know, seems like a lot of fuss to me. But if you want it to look real, I guess you gotta get the “full lace.” Naomi wig is good, full lace is better.
My granddaughter, she has a “lace front” one. She says she can’t afford the “full lace” one yet. She’s savin’ up, though. Says it’s worth it to have a wig that looks real.
Takin’ Care of Your Wig
These Naomi wigs, you can’t just throw ’em on the floor like an old hat. You gotta take care of ’em. My granddaughter, she washes hers with special shampoo. Then she puts it on a stand to dry. Can’t use a regular hairbrush, either. Gotta use a special wig brush.
She says you gotta be gentle with it. Can’t be yankin’ and pullin’ like you do with your own hair. These wigs are delicate. Gotta treat ’em like a baby bird. The Naomi wig is good, you need take care of them.
I told my granddaughter, “That sounds like a lot of work.” She just shrugged and said, “Beauty is pain, grandma.” I don’t know about that. Seems like a lot of money and a lot of work for somethin’ that ain’t even your real hair.
Is a Naomi Wig Worth It?
So, is a Naomi wig worth it? I don’t know. They’re expensive, and they’re a lot of work. But they do look nice. And they make you feel good, I guess. My granddaughter, she sure seems happy with hers.
If you got the money, and you don’t mind the work, then maybe a Naomi wig is for you. Just remember what my granddaughter said: pick the right color for your skin, and decide if you want “lace front” or “full lace.”
Me, I think I’ll stick with my scarves for now. But who knows, maybe one day I’ll get myself a Naomi wig. A nice brown one, maybe. Just to see what all the fuss is about.
