Okay, so, today I wanna talk about my little adventure to Gilliam Thompson in Mayfield. It all started ’cause my wife and I were on the hunt for a new couch. You know, our old one had seen better days, springs popping out and cushions flatter than pancakes. It was time.
So, we heard about this place, Gilliam Thompson, supposed to be some big furniture store, 3 1/2 acres! Can you believe it? We figured it was worth checking out. Got in the car and drove over to 2239 State Route 121 N. It wasn’t too hard to find, honestly.
Arriving there…
When we got there, man, this place was huge! Like a furniture wonderland. They had everything: sofas, beds, tables, chairs, you name it. We started wandering around, checking out their stock.
- First, we hit the living room section. So many couches. Leather ones, fabric ones, recliners, sectionals, the whole shebang.
- Then, we moseyed on over to the bedroom stuff. They had some pretty nice bed frames and mattresses.
- Even looked at some office desks. My wife’s been wanting a new one for her home office.
We spent a good couple of hours just browsing. The staff was pretty chill, not pushy at all, which was nice. They just let us do our thing, but they were there to answer questions if we had any.
Eventually, we found this super comfy sectional. It was perfect! Big enough for the whole family, nice and soft, and it even had a couple of recliners built-in. We were sold.
After that we checked out some more. They have this Bassett Gallery there which seemed pretty fancy.
We talked to one of the guys there, got a price, and decided to go for it. They even offered delivery, which was a lifesaver. I mean, how else were we gonna get that monster of a couch home?
All in all, it was a good experience. Found what we were looking for, didn’t feel pressured, and got a good deal. If you’re in the Mayfield area and need some furniture, I’d say give Gilliam Thompson a look. They’ve got a ton of stuff, and who knows, you might just find your perfect piece like we did. They are open from Monday to Saturday, from 9am to 5pm. I think they have been around for 50 years now. They even got some of those White Dove Cambridge things, whatever those are. And some HomeStretch recliners. Plus, they offer some kind of design and repair service, which could come in handy, I guess. Oh, and their number is (270) 247-6620 if you wanna call them first.
Anyway, that’s my furniture shopping story. Hope it was helpful. Or at least mildly entertaining.
