Okay, so today I tackled the “Pressed Hard” NYT crossword. Let me tell you, it was a doozy! I grabbed my phone first thing this morning, opened up the NYT app, and dove right in.

Starting Off Strong
The first few clues were pretty easy. I filled in some short words, feeling good, you know? Like I was on a roll. I even managed to get a few longer ones, which made me think, “Hey, this might be my day!”
- Zipped through the top left corner, no problem.
- Got a little stuck in the middle, but figured it out after a few minutes.
Hitting a Wall
But then… things got tricky. There were some clues that just made no sense to me. I stared at the screen, reread the clues a million times, and still nothing. I even tried to think of words that fit the letters I already had, but it was like my brain just froze.
- Spent a good 20 minutes on one clue. 20 minutes!
- Started to doubt my entire vocabulary.
- Seriously considered throwing my phone across the room.
The Final Push
I took a break, walked around a bit, and came back to it. And somehow, after what felt like ages, I finally started to see some progress. A few words clicked into place, and that gave me the boost I needed.
- Finally cracked that one clue that was driving me crazy!
- Filled in a few more words, feeling like a genius.
Victory! (Sort of)
In the end, I did it! I finished the crossword. It wasn’t pretty, and it definitely wasn’t fast, but I got there. It was a real struggle, but hey, a win’s a win, right?
I learned that I need to study more vocabulary words. Also, I need to keep calm when facing diffculties.

I will come back and conquer it!
