Okay, so today I wanted to try out something different, something I saw online that looked kinda cool. It’s this workout thing called “helen marie bowers.” I don’t know who Helen Marie Bowers is, but the exercises seemed interesting, so I figured, why not give it a shot?
First off, I looked up some videos about it. Turns out, it’s like a ballet-inspired workout. Lots of stretching and moving around, which is pretty different from my usual routine of just lifting heavy stuff. I found a beginner-friendly routine to start with. It wasn’t too crazy, just some basic moves to get the hang of it.
I cleared a space in my living room, put on some music, and got started. The first few moves were all about warming up. Lots of arm circles, leg swings, and stretching. I gotta say, I felt kinda graceful, even though I’m usually clumsy as hell.
- First, I did some arm circles.
- Then, I moved on to leg swings.
- After that, I spent a good amount of time stretching.
Then came the actual workout. There were these things called “pliés,” which are basically just squats, but you do them with your feet turned out. My inner thighs were definitely feeling it. I tried to keep my back straight and my core engaged, like the video said. It was harder than it looked!
Next, there were some leg lifts and extensions. I laid down on my mat and lifted each leg up in the air, trying to keep them straight. It was a real burner, especially in the hips. I had to take a few breaks, I’m not gonna lie.
I also tried some balance exercises, where I had to stand on one leg and move the other leg around. This was tough. I wobbled a lot and almost fell over a few times. But I kept at it, and by the end, I was a little more stable.
The whole routine took about 30 minutes. By the end, I was sweating and my muscles were tired, but in a good way. It was a nice change of pace from my usual workouts. I felt like I worked muscles I don’t normally use.
Overall, I’d say the “helen marie bowers” workout was a good experience. It was challenging but also kinda fun. I don’t know if I’ll become a ballerina anytime soon, but I might add some of these moves into my regular routine. It’s always good to switch things up and try something new, right?
