Okay, so I wanted a new phone wallpaper, and I’ve been really into Genshin Impact lately. Eula is my absolute favorite, and “Song of Broken Pines” is just such a cool-sounding weapon name, right? So I thought, “Why not combine the two?”
Finding the Right Image
First things first, I needed a good picture of Eula. I didn’t want anything too busy, something that would look clean as a wallpaper. I spent a good hour just scrolling through fan art and official art, trying to find the perfect one.
- I tried searching on some art websites, but a lot of it was, uh, not what I was looking for. You know how it is.
- Eventually, I found a really nice, simple image of Eula with the Song of Broken Pines – it was from a promotional image, I think. It was perfect! Nice and clean, not too much going on in the background.
Making it Fit
Next problem: the image wasn’t the right size for my phone. It was all stretched out and weird when I tried to set it as my wallpaper.
I tried a couple of different approaches for making the image into right size:
- Cropping: Simple enough. I just used the built-in photo editor on my phone. I had to cut off a bit of the image, but it was mostly okay. I made sure to keep Eula and the sword centered.
- Resizing: I downloaded a random image resizer app. I played around with the dimensions a bit, trying to keep the aspect ratio right so Eula didn’t look squished. I think my phone screen is something like 9:19, so I used that as a guide.
Final Touches
After I resized and cropped it, it still looked a little…plain. I wanted to add a tiny bit of something extra.
I added a simple adjustment on my phone to the wallpaper.
- Brightness/Contrast: I bumped up the contrast a little and lowered the brightness just a touch. It made the colors pop a bit more and made the image look less washed out on my phone screen.
And that’s it! It took a bit of fiddling, but I’m super happy with how it turned out. Now I’ve got a cool, custom Eula wallpaper, and it reminds me of that awesome weapon every time I unlock my phone.
