Okay, so I’ve been a WWE fan since I was a kid, and when I saw that Raw was coming to Portland, Oregon, I knew I had to go. I mean, it’s Raw! In my city! No way I was missing that.
First things first, I scored some tickets. This wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. It seemed like everyone in Portland wanted to go. I went online the second they went on sale, and even then, I had to refresh the page like a million times. Finally, I managed to snag a couple in the lower bowl – not ringside, but hey, close enough!
Next, I planned out my day. I don’t live super close to the Moda Center, so I needed to figure out parking. I’m not a big fan of the traffic,so I decided early that, find a nice spot and walk for while. I ended up parking a bit away to avoid the crazy rush after the show, which, as it turned out, was a brilliant move.
Then came the actual show day.I wore my favorite vintage Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt. Gotta represent! I met up with a buddy of mine, who’s also a huge wrestling fan, and we headed to the arena.
The atmosphere outside the Moda Center was electric. Everyone was hyped. There were people in costumes, families with kids, and just a ton of energy. We grabbed some overpriced-but-necessary arena food (hot dogs, of course) and found our seats.
The Show Itself
- The crowd was insane. Every pop, every near-fall, every chant… the place was rocking. Seriously, the energy was contagious. You couldn’t help but get swept up in it.
- Seeing the wrestlers live is different. On TV, it’s cool, but in person, you really appreciate the athleticism and the showmanship. These guys and gals are incredible athletes, and they put on a heck of a show.
- I did saw some of my favorites! It was awesom.
- Also,got some surprised new wrestlers,they are all good.
After the show, getting out was an adventure,I was glad I’d parked further away! It took a while, but we eventually made it back to the car, still buzzing from the excitement.
Overall, it was an amazing experience. Being there live, feeling the energy of the crowd, and seeing the wrestlers up close…it’s something I won’t forget. If Raw comes back to Portland, I’m definitely going again!
