Okay, let’s dive into my little project of making some custom Jordan golf shoes. It all started because, well, I love Jordans and I love golf, but the official Jordan golf shoes are always sold out or crazy expensive on the resale market. So, I thought, “Why not just make my own?”

The Hunt for the Perfect Base
First things first, I needed a pair of Jordans that I was willing to sacrifice to the golf gods. I didn’t want to use anything too rare or expensive, just in case I messed up badly. I ended up finding a pair of used Jordan 1 Lows in a pretty neutral colorway on a local online marketplace. They were a little beat up, but that was perfect – less pressure!
Gathering Supplies – My Makeshift Workshop
Next up, I needed to get all the stuff to actually turn these sneakers into golf shoes. I hit up a local golf store, online marketplace, and got the following:
- Golf spikes: I went with some plastic ones because they seemed easier to install.
- Strong adhesive: The guy at the shop recommended some heavy-duty stuff that’s used for shoe repair.
- A drill with different sized bits: Had this at home already.
- Some sort of sealant: To protect the holes I’d be drilling. Didn’t know I needed this, but better safe than sorry.
Operation: Spike Installation
This was the scary part. I started by marking out where I wanted the spikes to go on the soles of the Jordans. I used a ruler and tried to make it as symmetrical as possible. Eyeballing it is a dangerous game.
Then came the drilling. I started with a small drill bit to make pilot holes, then gradually increased the size until the spikes fit snugly. This took a lot of patience and double-checking. I definitely didn’t want to drill all the way through the sole!
Once the holes were drilled, I applied the sealant around the edges of each hole, just to be extra careful about water damage. Then, I squeezed a generous amount of adhesive into each hole and screwed in the spikes. I let them dry overnight, just to be sure everything was solid.

The Moment of Truth – Testing Them Out
The next day, I took my newly customized Jordan golf shoes to the driving range. I was a little nervous, I am not going to lie. But, surprisingly, they felt great! The spikes provided plenty of grip, and the shoes themselves were still comfortable. I even got a few compliments from some other golfers, which was a nice bonus.
Final Thoughts – Would I Do It Again?
Overall, I’m really happy with how these custom Jordan golf shoes turned out. It was a fun little project, and it saved me a ton of money compared to buying a brand-new pair of official ones. Would I do it again? Probably! Maybe next time I’ll try a different Jordan model, or even experiment with different colored spikes. It’s a surprisingly easy way to add a personal touch to your golf gear.
