Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Hades 2 lately, and one thing that’s always on my mind is which Daedalus Hammer upgrades to grab. It can totally make or break a run, you know? So, I started keeping track of what worked best for me, and I figured I’d share my notes.

First, I booted up the game, and it hit me – I need to be more methodical about this. I can’t just wing it every time. So, I decided to focus on a few weapons and really get to know their upgrades.
The Witch’s Staff Experiments
I started with the Witch’s Staff, because, well, it’s the starting weapon, and I figured I should master the basics first. Here’s what I found:
- Flurry Cast: At first, I didn’t think that cast build would be a viable way to play this game, but Flurry Cast made me a believer!
- Double Cataclysm: This upgrade makes your special hit twice and has a larger area of effect. It’s great to pair this with upgrades for Poseidon’s boons.
- Mighty Sweep: At first I thought, “Meh, a bigger attack area?” But man, was I wrong. This thing clears rooms like nobody’s business. It’s not super flashy, but it’s incredibly effective, especially when you’re getting swarmed.
- Splitting Headache: This was the biggest suprise to me. Your omega attack hits twice, with the second hit doing even more damage, and when you give it a good boon that gives you a damage boost it shreds.
Sister Blades Shenanigans
Next up, I moved on to the Sister Blades. These are all about speed and getting up close and personal. Here’s what I discovered:
- Savage Flurry: The faster attack makes you do crazy damage!
- Lurking Wrath: So, this one makes your specials into little traps. I used them with the Artemis boon that made them seek out foes, it worked so well.
- Skulking Slice: At first, I struggled to make this work. But then, I realized it’s all about positioning. Get behind enemies, and they just melt.
- Piercing Cutter: Usually I avoid upgrades that make my specials bounce between enemies because they feel clunky, but this one might be the exception to the rule.
Moonstone Axe Mayhem
Finally, I tackled the Moonstone Axe. This thing is a beast, but it’s slow, so the right upgrades are crucial. Here’s the breakdown:
- Unyielding Fury: So you can just swing away and not worry too much.
- Focusing Cutter: This turns your special into a sniper shot and can one shot a lot of the basic enemies.
- Ruthless Cleave: At first I passed this upgrade up so many times. But after I tried it with the Hestia boon that does burn damage, the enemies melted before my eyes.
- Knockdown Comet: Bigger, better, and knocks the enemies down.
So, that’s my current Daedalus Hammer playbook for Hades 2. It’s still a work in progress, and I’m sure I’ll discover new combos and strategies. But for now, this is what’s been working for me. Hope it helps you on your runs! I’m always tweaking and adjusting, so I’ll probably do an update down the line. Game on!
