Alright, so today I wanted to mess around with generating an image, specifically a photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. I’ve always been a huge baseball fan, and these two are absolute legends.
First, I fired up my image generator. I’ve tried a bunch, but lately, I’ve been sticking with one.
Then came the fun part – crafting the prompt. I started simple, just typing in “photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig”. I hit generate, and…well, it wasn’t great. It got the two guys, sure, but it looked kinda weird, like a really old, blurry scan of a picture. Not the vibe I was going for.
Round Two
Okay, time to get more specific. I added some details to the prompt, trying to make it sound more like a real photo description. I changed it to “black and white photo of Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, standing side by side, in their New York Yankees uniforms, smiling, at a baseball stadium”.
This time, the results were much better! The black and white filter definitely helped make it look more authentic. They were both in their pinstripes, and the background looked like an old-timey stadium. Still, something was a little off. Their faces were a bit…mushy, I guess? Not super clear.
Getting Picky
- I tweaked the prompt again.
- I added “high resolution” and “sharp focus”
- hoping to clean up those faces.
Boom! That did the trick. The image was way clearer, and you could actually see their faces and expressions really well. It looked like a genuine old photograph you might find in a shoebox somewhere.
Finally, I played around with a few other things, like specifying the year (I went with “1930s”) and adding “candid shot” to make it feel less posed. Each little change made a difference, and it was cool to see how the image evolved.
It’s kinda addictive, honestly. You start with a basic idea, and then you just keep refining it until you get exactly what you pictured in your head. I probably spent way too long on this one picture, but hey, it was fun, and I ended up with a pretty cool image of two baseball icons.
