Man, I gotta share this crazy thing I tried the other day. I was messing around in NBA 2K, and I had this wild idea: Could I get Kemba Walker to score 92 points in a single game?
Getting Started
First, I picked the right team. Of course, I went with the Hornets – gotta have Kemba in his natural habitat, right? Then, I adjusted the game settings. I cranked up the quarter length to 12 minutes, because, you know, we need time for all those buckets. And I set the difficulty to Rookie – no shame in my game, I just wanted to see those points pile up.
The Game Plan
My strategy was simple: feed Kemba the ball. Every. Single. Possession. I ignored everyone else on the court, basically. It was all about getting Kemba open looks, driving to the basket, and shooting threes. I didn’t focus on any complex plays, which is not really what I am good at. I am a fan of a simple and violent style.
- Drive and kick.
- Run pick-and-rolls with Kemba.
- Shoot lots of threes.
- Don’t even think pass the ball to any other player.
The Grind
The first quarter was insane. Kemba dropped like 30 points. I was feeling good. But then, the defense started to tighten up. They double-teamed him, sometimes even triple-teamed! It got tougher to get him open shots. But that’s what all stars have to go through right?
I had to adjust. I started using more screens, calling for picks constantly. I drove to the basket more, drawing fouls and getting to the free-throw line. It was a grind, man. My thumbs were actually getting sore from hitting the buttons so much.
The Final Push
By the fourth quarter, Kemba had around 70 points. I knew it was going to be close. Every possession was crucial. I was sweating, seriously. I was yelling at the screen, like Kemba could actually hear me. “Come on, Kemba, you got this!”
With like a minute left, he was sitting at 88 points. Four more! I forced a couple of shots – probably not the best strategy, but I was desperate. Then, with like 10 seconds left, he hit a step-back three! 91 points!
One more! I fouled the other team on purpose, hoping they’d miss a free throw and I’d get one last chance. They made both, unfortunately. I inbounded the ball to Kemba, he dribbled up the court, and… I fouled out. No! So stupid!
The Result
So, yeah, I didn’t quite make it. Kemba finished with 91, which is very very close. It was still an epic performance, though.
Even though I didn’t hit my goal, it was a blast. It just shows how crazy good you have to be to score that many points in a real NBA game. Hats off to the legends who’ve actually done it.
