So, I was watching some tennis the other day, just flipping through channels, you know? And I landed on a Madison Keys match. She was playing really well, hitting the ball so hard, and it just got me thinking. It feels like ages since I really followed her closely, and I wondered who was in her corner these days.

You know how it is with tennis players, especially top ones. Their coaching situation seems to change pretty often. One season it’s this person, the next it’s someone totally different. Sometimes it works wonders, sometimes not so much. So, curiosity got the better of me.
My Little Search Mission
I grabbed my tablet while the match was on a changeover. Just typed in the usual stuff, “madison keys coach” or something like that. The first things that popped up were a mix, honestly. Some older articles mentioning past coaches, people like Thomas Högstedt or Lindsay Davenport – names I remembered.
It’s always a bit of a dig, isn’t it? You gotta sift through the older news to find what’s current. I clicked around a few sports sites, fan forums, trying to piece it together. Sometimes it feels like you need to be a detective just to find basic info.
- Checked recent tournament reports.
- Looked at some tennis news aggregators.
- Scrolled through way too many opinion pieces.
Finally, I started seeing a consistent name pop up in more recent articles and interviews from this year. Bjorn Fratangelo. Yeah, the player Bjorn Fratangelo. I remembered him playing, definitely.
What I Found Out
So it seems Bjorn Fratangelo is her current coach. What’s more, and I kinda knew this but it clicked again, they’re also partners, like, dating or engaged, I think? That adds a whole different layer to it, doesn’t it? Coaching your significant other in a high-pressure sport like pro tennis… wow. I can only imagine the conversations they must have.

It makes sense in a way, having someone you trust completely. But man, separating the personal from the professional must be tough. Like, how do you critique their game harshly and then go have dinner?
Anyway, that was my little quest for the day. Satisfied my curiosity. It’s always interesting to see the team behind the player. Seems like she’s found a setup that’s working for her right now, based on how she was playing. Just goes to show, finding the right support system is huge in any job, really, but especially in solo sports like tennis.
