Alright, so I fired up Monopoly Go earlier, just doing my usual rounds, collecting rent and whatnot. Then I noticed this new event banner flashing – something called Fortune Footrace. Looked like another one of those mini-games they run pretty often.

I tapped on it to see what the deal was. The goal seemed straightforward enough: land on specific tiles, collect points. This time, the points looked like little running shoes, fitting the ‘footrace’ theme, I guess. The usual suspects were the point tiles: Chance, Community Chest, and the Railroads. Landing on those would get me these shoe points.
Getting Started
So, I started playing like usual. Just rolling the dice, moving my little token around the board. My first thought was, okay, Railroads are probably the best bet, since there are four of them. I kept an eye on my token’s position, trying to figure out the best rolls to land on one.
I usually play with a low multiplier, maybe x3 or x5, just to make the dice last. But for the event, I decided to bump it up a bit when I was close to a target tile. Sometimes it worked, got a decent chunk of points. Other times, I’d overshoot or undershoot and land on some useless property tile. You know how it goes.
Progress and Rewards
The event had milestones, like they always do. As I collected more shoe points, I started unlocking stuff:

- Some dice rolls (always needed)
- A bit of in-game cash
- Sticker packs, hoping for something new
- Eventually, bigger dice rewards and maybe some token piece
Hitting those early milestones felt pretty good, gave me a little boost to keep going. I managed to get through the first few levels fairly quickly just by playing normally. The Chance and Community Chest spots helped too, sometimes giving a nice little bonus pile of points when I landed there.
The Grind
After a while, though, the points needed for the next milestone started getting really high. That’s when you feel the grind setting in. I found myself specifically aiming for those point tiles, sometimes using a higher multiplier like x20 or even x50 when I felt lucky or was just a few spaces away.
It’s a bit of a gamble, right? You can burn through hundreds of dice in minutes if you hit a dry spell and keep landing on junk tiles. I had a few frustrating runs where I just couldn’t seem to land on anything useful. Wasted a good chunk of dice just circling the board.
But then, you’d get a lucky streak. Hit a Railroad with a high multiplier, then maybe land on Chance right after. Those moments felt great, seeing the point total jump up and unlocking another reward.
I didn’t manage to finish the whole thing – those top tiers require a crazy amount of points, and honestly, a ton of dice. But I got reasonably far, picked up some decent rewards along the way. It was a typical Monopoly Go event experience, really. Kept me engaged for a bit, made the regular gameplay loop a little more interesting for a while. Spent more dice than I planned, as usual, but grabbed enough rewards to feel like it wasn’t a total waste of time. Now, back to collecting rent, I guess.
