So, I had this idea the other day, kinda weird maybe. Called it my “lindor oakley” mission. Don’t ask me why those two things together, sometimes my brain just spits stuff out. Felt like I needed a bit of comfort and a bit of… well, something practical, I guess.

Starting the Hunt
First stop was for the Lindor. Easy part, right? Went down to the local shop. You know the one. Stared at that wall of shiny wrappers. Red ones, the classic milk chocolate. Always gotta get those. Grabbed a bag, maybe a bigger one than I strictly needed. Felt good, that little weight in the hand. Reminds me of simpler times, sitting watching TV, popping one of those. Done. Mission part one, check.
Then came the Oakley part. This was gonna be trickier. I had a specific pair in mind, saw ’em somewhere ages ago. You know how it is, sticks in your head. Finding a place that actually had them, that was the challenge.
The Oakley Search
Walked over to that big sports store downtown. They always have a massive sunglasses display. Found the Oakley section. Man, so many choices. Tried on a few pairs. You gotta, right? See how they feel, how they look. Some felt too tight, some too big. Found some similar to the ones I wanted, but not quite it. The lens color was off, or the frame felt different.
Started thinking, maybe this was a dumb idea. Just grab any pair? But no, I was set on this specific vibe. The sales guy came over, asked if I needed help. Told him what I was after. He looked it up. “Ah yeah,” he says, “we don’t have that exact model right now. Special order maybe?”
Great. Just my luck. Stood there for a bit. Looked at the price tags too. Whew. Definitely not cheap. Made the bag of Lindor feel even heavier, like a contrast.

- Checked my phone, maybe another store?
- Thought about just ordering online, but I like trying them on first.
- Considered giving up on the Oakleys for the day.
Wrapping Up (Sort Of)
In the end, I left without the Oakleys. Kinda frustrating. So the “lindor oakley” mission was only half successful. Walked home, bag of chocolates in hand. Felt a bit deflated about the sunglasses, but hey, at least I had the Lindor.
It’s funny how you set out to do something simple, like getting chocolate and sunglasses, and it turns into this whole thing. Maybe the point wasn’t even getting both items on the same day. Maybe it was just the act of trying, of going out with a weird little goal. Still got the Lindor, enjoyed a few on the couch later. The Oakleys? Maybe next time. Or maybe I’ll forget about that specific pair and find something else. Who knows. That’s just how these things go sometimes, right?
