Okay, so I decided I wanted to get my hands on the Drang Baroque sidearm again the other day. It’s been a while, and I wanted to see how it felt in the current sandbox, you know? Here’s how I went about grabbing it this time around in 2024.

First Things First: The Sturm Connection
I remembered, kinda vaguely at first, that Drang is tied to Sturm. Like, they’re buddies. You usually can’t get one without dealing with the other somehow. So, my first thought was, “Do I have Sturm?”. I checked my collections and vault, made sure I actually had the exotic hand cannon unlocked and maybe even on me, though just having it unlocked is usually the key.
If you don’t have Sturm, that’s step one. You gotta grab it.
Getting Sturm (If You Need It)
For anyone who doesn’t have Sturm, you need to visit the Tower. There’s that big kiosk thing between the vault terminals, the Monument to Lost Lights. That’s where old exotics hang out now.
- I went to the Tower.
- Walked up to the Monument to Lost Lights.
- Found Sturm in there under the Forsaken Exotics, I think? Or maybe Red War. Anyway, it’s in the kiosk.
- You’ll need some stuff to buy it. Usually an Exotic Cipher, some Glimmer, Legendary Shards, maybe an Ascendant Shard. Had those handy, so I just bought it right there.
Off to the Gunsmith
Alright, with Sturm secured (or already having it), the next stop was Banshee-44. Good old Gunsmith, always there in the Tower courtyard.
So, I walked over to Banshee.

Finding Drang Baroque at Banshee’s
I started talking to Banshee, opened up his vendor screen. Now, this is important. Don’t just look at the first page of weapons he’s selling.
- I cycled through his inventory pages. Sometimes he has multiple pages.
- I think it was on his second or third page, might change week to week, who knows. But it wasn’t on the main page with the daily rotating stuff.
- And boom, there it was. Drang Baroque. Ready to be purchased.
It just cost some Legendary Shards and Glimmer. Super cheap, really. Selected it, confirmed the purchase, and it popped right into my inventory.
All Done!
So, that was basically it. The main trick is remembering you need Sturm first. Once you have Sturm (either from the Kiosk or if you already had it from way back when), just go talk to Banshee and make sure to check all his vendor pages. The Drang Baroque should be sitting there for you to buy directly.
Didn’t take long at all once I remembered the Sturm requirement. Hope this helps anyone else looking for this classic sidearm!
