Finding Stuff Out
So, people keep asking about stuff like ‘Hovland girlfriend’. You see it pop up online, right? Everyone’s curious about these sports guys’ lives. Who they’re dating, what they do off the course, or pitch, or whatever.

It kinda reminds me of this time I was trying to track down a specific detail about an old piece of software we used at my last job. Not even the software itself, but like, who exactly made one tiny module inside it. Seemed simple enough.
First, I dug through the internal docs. Nothing. Just the main vendor name, which wasn’t helpful. Then I tried emailing some old colleagues. You know how that goes:
- One guy replied, ‘No idea, man.’
- Another thought he remembered but gave me the wrong name.
- Most just didn’t answer. Probably thought I was nuts.
So I went online. Started searching forums, old tech blogs, even archives of company websites using those wayback machine things. Spent like, a whole weekend doing this. Found lots of talk about the software, but not the specific tiny detail I needed. It was like searching for a ghost.
It’s funny how some information is everywhere, blasted all over the place, like celebrity gossip maybe. But other stuff, even simple facts, can just vanish. Completely buried. Makes you wonder what else you just can’t find out, no matter how hard you look.
Anyway, I never did find out who made that module. Just had to give up eventually. Wasted a lot of time, got pretty annoyed. Sometimes it’s just not worth the hassle, you know?
