Okay, so here’s the deal. I was wondering about Marcelo, you know, the legendary left-back, and whether he’s kicking around in FIFA 24. I figured, let’s dive in and see what’s what.
First thing I did? Fired up my trusty FIFA 23. Yeah, I know FIFA 24 is out, but gotta start somewhere, right? I went straight to the team rosters. Started searching through all the clubs, especially the Brazilian ones, since I knew he was playing back in Brazil.
I manually searched for Fluminense, the club he signed for. It was a pain, scrolling through all those teams. Seriously, EA needs a better search function. Anyway, I found Fluminense! But guess what? The players were generic, no real faces, just those default FIFA avatars. Bummer.
Then it hit me: Maybe he’s not even in the game anymore. So, I went online, checked out some FIFA forums, some football news sites. Did some serious digging and stuff.
And that’s when I found out the reason. See, Fluminense is in FIFA, but because of some licensing issues, they don’t have the real player likenesses. And since Marcelo moved there, EA basically had to remove him from the game entirely. Double bummer!
I also looked into the FIFA 23 soundtracks, just for kicks. I was hoping maybe there was some sort of tribute to him or something hidden in there, but nope, nothing related to Marcelo there. Just a bunch of songs.
So, the conclusion? No Marcelo in FIFA 24 (or even FIFA 23 after the transfer). It’s a shame, really. Would’ve loved to play with him, even if he’s getting on a bit. Maybe they’ll add him back in a future update if the licensing gets sorted. Fingers crossed!
