Okay, here’s my blog post about figuring out Tom Aspinall’s height. It’s all about the steps I took and the mess I made along the way!

Alright folks, so I got obsessed with knowing exactly how tall Tom Aspinall is. You know, the UFC heavyweight. Seems like a simple Google search, right? Wrong! The numbers all over the internet were different. Some said 6’5″, some said 6’4″, and a few wild ones even claimed 6’3″. I had to get to the bottom of it.
My initial move: The Google Dive. I started with the basics, just trawling through every sports website and UFC profile I could find. Like I said, the numbers were all over the place. It was annoying! I began to wonder if his height was a closely guarded secret or something.
Next Step: Fight Footage Frenzy. I figured, okay, if the official numbers are a joke, I’ll use my own eyes. I watched a ton of Aspinall’s fights, especially the weigh-ins. The plan was to compare him to other fighters whose heights are supposedly known. This got tricky fast.
- First problem: Camera angles are evil.
- Second problem: People don’t stand perfectly straight.
- Third problem: Fighters often wear shoes with different soles.
I tried to account for all this, pausing, rewinding, and squinting until my eyes hurt. I was starting to feel like a proper mad scientist.
The Joe Rogan Factor. I thought, “Joe Rogan is always standing next to fighters!”. Surely, I could get a good comparison shot there. I spent way too long looking for clips of Rogan and Aspinall together. Again, the shoe situation messed things up. Rogan’s always wearing those boots that probably add an inch or two.

Hitting the Forums. Desperate, I dove into the UFC forums. These places are usually full of conspiracy theories, but sometimes you strike gold. I actually found a thread where people were discussing Aspinall’s height, and someone posted a photo of him next to Ciryl Gane. Now, Gane is officially listed as 6’4″.
My Big Breakthrough (Maybe). Using the Gane photo, I zoomed in and tried to draw a straight line from the top of Gane’s head to the floor, and then compared that to Aspinall. Taking into account posture (Gane seemed to be slouching a tiny bit) and possible shoe differences, my best guess is that Aspinall is slightly taller than Gane.
My conclusion? Okay, I’m going to stick my neck out here. Based on everything I’ve looked at, I reckon Tom Aspinall is closer to 6’5″ than 6’4″. Could I be wrong? Absolutely! But I’ve put way too much time into this not to have an opinion.
The Takeaway. This whole experience taught me that internet stats are often rubbish, and figuring out someone’s height from video footage is way harder than it looks. But hey, at least I have a slightly more informed opinion now. And I definitely need a break from staring at fight videos!
So, what do you think? Am I crazy? Let me know in the comments!
