Okay, so, “where does John Smoltz live now?” That’s what I was wondering the other day, right? I was watching some baseball, and Smoltz was doing commentary, and I thought, “Huh, I wonder where that guy ended up.”

First thing I did, naturally, was hit up the internet. I figured it’d be a quick search, you know? Just type it in and boom, there’s the answer. But, it wasn’t quite that easy. I saw a bunch of articles about his career, his time with the Braves, all that stuff. I knew all that already! I needed the current info.
So, I started digging a bit deeper. I looked for recent interviews, maybe something about him buying a new house or mentioning his location in passing. I even checked out some real estate sites, just in case there was some public record of him buying property somewhere. Nothing concrete popped out right away. It’s not like these celebs just broadcast their addresses, duh!
Then, I remembered something. His kids! I figured maybe he’d be living somewhere near where his family is. Did some searching on his kids, if they were in college or still in high school. Scratched that idea, too vague.
Finally, I remembered he does a lot of work for MLB Network and Fox Sports. So, I figured he’s probably living somewhere that makes it relatively easy to get to those studios. Now, I don’t know exactly where all those studios are, but I’m guessing somewhere on the East Coast makes sense, or maybe even near a major airport for travel.
Pulled up his bio on those networks, looked for any hints. Some sources say he was born in Detroit, Michigan, but that doesn’t mean that’s where he is now! Since retiring he has served as a color commentator and analyst for both Fox Sports and MLB Network. So he probably lives close to a major city for work.

My Conclusion: I still don’t have a specific address or anything like that (nor would I share it if I did!). But based on my digging, I’d guess he’s living somewhere on the East Coast, possibly near Atlanta (his old stomping grounds) or New York (for the MLB Network). It’s really just a guess but that is what I came up with through my research and thinking.
