Alright, so today I’m gonna break down how I finally nailed making Sake Maki in Dreamlight Valley. It was a bit of a journey, lemme tell ya!

First off, I saw Sake Maki mentioned online and thought, “Hey, that sounds fancy, I gotta try it!” So, I jumped into the game, ready to cook up a storm.
The first thing I did was hit up my trusty cookbook. You know, that menu where all the recipes you’ve discovered hang out. I scrolled through, but no Sake Maki. Bummer. That meant I needed to figure out the ingredients myself. Trial and error time!
I remembered reading something about Salmon being a key ingredient for Sake Maki, and that it’s a pain to get. I knew I needed to head to either Frosted Heights or Sunlit Plateau. I picked Sunlit Plateau first, cuz I like the vibe there better.
I started fishing like crazy in the Sunlit Plateau. Cast my line, reeled it in, crossed my fingers… and got everything BUT Salmon. Seriously, I pulled up like a million Bass and some other random fish. It was getting frustrating.
Okay, plan B. Maybe the Frosted Heights are where it’s at. I fast-traveled over there, bundled up my avatar (it’s cold!), and started fishing again. Still no dice for a while. I almost gave up, but then BAM! I finally caught a Salmon! Victory!

Now that I had the Salmon, I figured I needed Rice too. Luckily, that’s pretty easy to get. You just gotta head over to Goofy’s stall in the Glade of Trust and buy some Rice Seeds. Plant ’em, water ’em, and boom, Rice!
Alright, Salmon? Check. Rice? Check. I ran back to my kitchen, threw those two ingredients into the pot… and got something completely different! Argh! I forgot I needed Seaweed. I facepalmed myself, how could i forget!
So back to fishing I went. Seaweed is pretty easy to find, you can get it almost anywhere when you aren’t aiming for the specific circles. I got some Seaweed. I went back to my cooking pot again. Threw in Rice, Salmon, and Seaweed and finally I did it!
After all that, it was actually pretty easy to make once I had the right ingredients. It just took a bit of fishing luck and some remembering to get there.
The moral of the story? Sometimes, even the simplest recipes in Dreamlight Valley require a bit of hunting and a whole lot of patience. But hey, at least I got some Sake Maki out of it. Now, time to go cook something else!
