Alright, let’s talk about this Raptors depth chart thing, whatever that means. Sounds fancy, but it’s just about who’s playing basketball for the team, right? Like, who’s starting and who’s sitting on the bench, warming their butts.
So, this season, 2023-24, they say it’s gonna look somethin’ like this. At that point guard spot, the little fellas who run around with the ball, we got this Dennis Schroder guy and Malachi Flynn. Don’t ask me who’s better, I just watch ‘em runnin’ back and forth.
Now, for the other fellas, the bigger ones, they got a whole bunch of ‘em. Scottie Barnes, I know him, young fella, plays hard. They say he’s a forward, whatever that is. And then there’s OG Anunoby, another forward. Sounds like a fancy name, huh? He’s good, real good at defense, stoppin’ other fellas from scoring. And Pascal Siakam, he’s another one, maybe the best of the bunch, always movin’ and shakin’.
- Point Guards: Dennis Schroder, Malachi Flynn
- Forwards: Scottie Barnes, OG Anunoby, Pascal Siakam
- Centers: Jakob Poeltl, Christian Koloko. These are the tall ones, standin’ under the basket, fightin’ for rebounds.
Then they got some other guys comin’ off the bench. Precious Achiuwa, he’s strong, gets in there and grabs the ball. Chris Boucher, skinny fella, but he can jump high and block shots. And Gary Trent Jr., good shooter, throws the ball in the hoop from far away.
They tell me the Raptors, they been around a while. Started way back in 1995. Used to be another team up in Canada, the Vancouver Grizzlies, but they left. Now it’s just the Raptors representin’ the whole country. That’s a big job for a bunch of fellas runnin’ around with a ball.
People are always talkin’ about how many games the Raptors gonna win. Some say 45, some say 37. Who knows? It’s just a bunch of guessin’. They play in this big place called Scotiabank Arena, lots of folks go there to watch. Sounds like a big barn to me.
They got websites, you know, like ESPN and CBSSports, they list all these players and positions. It’s all there, they say, but I just watch the games. Easier than lookin’ at all them charts and numbers. This whole depth chart thing, it’s just a way for folks to keep track of who’s playin’. But at the end of the day, it’s about puttin’ the ball in the hoop more times than the other team.
And that’s about it, ain’t it? You got your starters, your bench players, your tall guys, your short guys, they all gotta work together. It ain’t easy, I tell ya, runnin’ up and down that court all night. These young fellas, they got a lot of energy.
So, that’s the Raptors depth chart for ya, as best as I can tell. Don’t expect me to remember all them names, though. Too many new faces these days. Just gonna watch ‘em play and see what happens. Win or lose, it’s just a game, right? Though it’s always more fun when they win, that’s for sure.
Looking ahead to 2024-25 season, things might change, players might get traded, new ones might come in. But the idea is the same, you gotta have a good group of guys ready to play. They gotta have some good point guards, some strong forwards, and some big centers to battle under the basket. That’s the way it is, and that’s the way it’ll always be, no matter what year it is.
