Okay, so, I’ve been following this Alex Pereira guy in the UFC, right? Dude’s a beast, but figuring out when he’s gonna fight next has been a real head-scratcher. Let me tell you about the wild goose chase I went on.
First, I started by just Googling around, you know, the usual “Alex Pereira next fight” kinda search. I found a bunch of stuff about him being the light heavyweight champ and that he was maybe gonna fight this Russian dude, Magomed Ankalaev. This Ankalaev guy is no joke, he’s on, like, an 11-fight unbeaten streak, or something crazy like that! It made sense, you know, top guy versus top guy.
But then, I saw a post on X, some account called “Championship Rounds,” saying it was confirmed he would fight Ankalaev. I got all hyped up, started thinking about how epic that fight would be.
- But, plot twist!
I stumbled upon another article saying Pereira himself posted on social media that he’s NOT fighting Ankalaev next. What the heck, right? Talk about a curveball! My excitement turned into confusion real quick. Then I read somewhere else that Pereira had actually fought and beat Khalil Rountree already.
Digging Deeper
So, I dug deeper. I started checking out all these MMA news sites, fan forums, even Reddit, trying to piece things together. Some folks were saying maybe Pereira wanted a “superfight.”
I even saw some chatter about Jon Jones, the heavyweight champ, wanting a piece of Pereira. Now that would be insane! But, honestly, it all felt like speculation at that point. And some other news said, Pereira is about to headline his third event of 2024, fighting against Khalil on Saturday. I was so confused because he had already won.
The Payday
While I was at it, I also found some info on how much money this guy makes. Apparently, for one fight, he got a base salary of $500,000, plus $700,000 from pay-per-view shares, and even $42,000 from sponsorships. Then, when he moved up a weight class to fight Jan Blachowicz, his base salary was $210,000, but he still made over a million bucks. Not bad for a night’s work, huh?
Anyway, after all this searching, it seems like nobody really knows for sure who he’s fighting or when. It’s all up in the air. One thing’s for sure though, whenever Pereira does fight again, I’ll be watching! It’s a mess of information out there, but hey, that’s the fight game, I guess.
