Okay, let’s talk about this Rickie Fowler P hat that I’ve been messing around with. I got into it a while back, like, you know, everyone’s been seeing Fowler rocking this hat with just a big ol’ “P” on it. So, I got curious, and I started digging.
First off, I went on a hunt to figure out what the heck that “P” even stood for. Turns out, it’s for Puma. No big surprise there, right? He’s been sponsored by them for a while, and they make all his gear, from the clothes to the clubs. He’s like, a walking Puma billboard, haha. But apparently, they are also saying that P can stand for other things. I don’t believe it though.
Then, I wanted to see when he actually started wearing this hat. I found some articles mentioning it during the U.S. Open, back in 2019, I think. Yeah, during the third round. It became a thing during that PGA Tour season. So, he’s been sporting it for a good few years now.
Next, I tried to buy one myself. Guess what? It’s not some super-exclusive thing you can’t get your hands on. I just went straight to the Puma website, found Fowler’s page, and boom, there it was. The “P hat,” plain as day. They even call it the “P hat.”
- Clicked on it,
- added it to my cart,
- and checked out.
Easy peasy. It wasn’t even that expensive.
I also found out that they’re making this hat in a bunch of different colors. I even saw some pictures of Fowler wearing a red, white, and blue one for the Fourth of July a while back. Pretty cool, I guess.
It’s All About Branding, Baby
So, yeah, that’s my little journey into the world of Rickie Fowler’s P hat. It’s just a hat, but it’s interesting how much branding and marketing can go into something so simple. It’s kind of neat, in a way. It’s all about that Puma brand, you know? They got their logo plastered all over the place, and Fowler’s the guy making it look good. Smart move on their part. And honestly, the hat’s not half bad. Might even wear it myself sometime. We’ll see.
