Recently, I’ve been messing around with my hair, trying to get that Alice Rubenstein look. You know, the one that’s all short and layered? It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.

First off, I got my hair cut. I went to a stylist and made sure she understood I wanted it layered and short. I found some reference pictures online and showed them to her. She did a pretty good job. Once the cut was done, it was all about styling.
Styling is key, folks.
So, I watched some videos and read a couple of things online. People were saying to use a flat iron. I grabbed my flat iron and started messing with my hair, flipping out the ends to give it that signature Alice look. It took some practice, honestly. My hair doesn’t always cooperate.
- Used the flat iron to flip out the ends of my hair.
- Worked in small sections, which seemed to help.
- Tried to get that messy, piecey look that Alice is known for.
Then, there’s the hair wax. I found some Ion Texturizing Hair Wax and went to town. I used it mostly on the ends to define the layers and make them look sharper. That’s what really seemed to make a difference. It gave it that texture I was looking for, you know? That kind of spiky, edgy vibe.
I also noticed that everyone has their own way of doing things. Some people do it slightly differently, which makes sense. We’ve all got different hair types and personal styles. It’s all about finding what works for you, I guess. I just kept practicing with the iron and the wax until I got it to a place where I was like, “Yeah, this looks pretty good!”
It’s definitely a look that takes some effort, but it’s totally doable.
It took me a bit, but I finally nailed the look, at least I think I did. It’s not perfect, but it’s close enough for me. It’s a fun style to play around with, and I’m pretty happy with how it turned out.
