Okay, so, I was digging around some NBA stuff the other day, and it got me thinking about Kobe Bryant’s last game. I decided to do some practice about it.
Man, what a game that was. It was such a blast. It’s crazy to think it was his final bow after 20 seasons in the NBA.
First, I opened up the browser and typed in “Kobe Bryant last game.” A bunch of results popped up, so I just clicked on the first few that looked interesting. I skimmed through some articles, and watched some videos. The energy in the arena that night was something else. You could feel it through the screen!
Then I found some articles talking about his final season. I remembered reading about how he announced his retirement earlier that season and every game became like a farewell tour. I dug up the story – it was back in October 1996 during the Lakers’ training camp in Honolulu. This 18-year-old kid, fresh out of high school, straight up told his teammates, “I know I’m young…” Can you believe that confidence?
I spent a good chunk of time just re-watching highlights from that last game. He dropped 60 points! Sixty! I mean, who does that in their final game? He played 42 minutes, took 50 shots, and just balled out.
I also started making some notes, jotting down some of the key moments and quotes that stood out to me. I wanted to really capture the essence of that night.
- Kobe’s age in the final game: 37
- Points scored: 60
- Field goal attempts: 50
- Minutes played: 42
After that, I organized my notes and started writing a draft. I wanted to focus on the emotional aspect of the game, you know, the end of an era, the fans’ reactions, and Kobe’s own reflections. His speech at the end gave me goosebumps. “Mamba out,” and he dropped the mic.
Finally, I refined the draft, added some more details from my research, and made sure it all flowed well. I read it out loud a couple of times to catch any awkward phrasing. I think I have done a good job.
Reflecting on it all
This whole process really made me appreciate Kobe’s impact on the game even more. He was a true legend, and that last game was the perfect ending to an incredible career. It was fun to re-live it all and put my thoughts down on paper, I mean, on the screen. Hope you guys enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me!
