Okay, so I’ve been meaning to really dig into the LSU National Championships in football, and today was finally the day. I’m a huge college football fan, and LSU’s history is just fascinating. So, I started where anyone would these days: I fired up my computer and started searching.

Diving into the Research
First, I wanted to get a broad overview. I typed “LSU football national championships” into the search bar. I quickly found some pretty cool basic information, just year numbers and opponents and stuff. Easy peasy!
Finding The Details
I scrolled and found there are 1941, 1958, 2003, 2007, 2019, five in total! Cool, I really wanted more detail. Then, I found more details about LSU’s 1941, 1958, 2003, 2007, 2019. It was a pretty good start!
I read through a few articles that give me more details about LSU’s National Championships History. I started to compile all of five champions year!
Compiling My Notes
After a couple of hours of browsing different sites, I decided to organize my research into my own simple summary. Here’s what I put together:
- 1941: I found that LSU shared the title with Minnesota at that time, which was very interesting!
- 1958: That’s when LSU first won the title alone! Beat Clemson 7-0.
- 2003: That season, Beat Oklahoma 21-14.
- 2007: Beat Ohio State, score 38-24. So impressive!
- 2019: What a year, so fresh in my memory. Beat Clemson 42-25.
It was a blast to go through all this history and really get a sense of the LSU’s journey in football. It took some time to piece everything together, but I think I have a good grasp on LSU football right now!
