Alright, so I was messing around with some icon design stuff the other day, and I stumbled upon this thing called “Icons Furled Finger.” Honestly, I had no idea what it even meant at first, but it sounded kinda cool, so I decided to give it a shot.
Getting Started
First things first, I needed to figure out what exactly a “furled finger” even looks like. I googled a bunch of images and found some references. Basically, it’s like a hand with the fingers curled in, like making a loose fist or something. I thought, Okay, I can work with this.
- Searched reference images on Google.
- Checked out some similar icon designs to get some ideas
The Drawing Process
I hopped into my trusty old drawing app.I usually start with some rough sketches, just to get the basic shape down. I drew a few different versions of the furled finger, playing around with the angles and how much of the hand to show. It was trickier than I expected! Getting the curves of the fingers to look natural and not all weird and wonky took a few tries.
Then I spent a good bit of time refining the lines, making them smoother and more consistent. This part is always a bit tedious, but it’s super important for making the icon look polished.
Coloring and Shading
Once I was happy with the line work, I moved on to colors. I picked a simple, skin-tone color for the hand, and then added some subtle shading to give it a bit of depth. I didn’t want to go too crazy with the details, since icons are usually pretty small. I just wanted it to look clean and easily recognizable.
- Selected a simple skin-tone color.
- Added light shading for the hand to make better.
Final Touches
After the coloring, I added a simple background .I experimented with a few different options before I found one that I liked. The whole point is to make the finger icon pop. And that’s pretty much it! It took a few hours, but I’m actually pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not perfect, but hey, it’s a learning process, right? I think I successfully made it!

I exported it finally and took a look at the icon,it’s cool!
