Alright, so I heard some folks talking about this game, ‘fortune patrol monopoly go’. Sounded a bit like that old board game but with something extra. Decided to give it a whirl myself, see what the fuss was about.
First thing, grabbed it from the app store. Download wasn’t too bad. Opened it up, looked kinda familiar, you know? Board layout, dice. Graphics were okay, nothing too fancy, but clean enough to see what’s going on.
So, you basically roll the dice and move your little token around this digital board. Standard stuff. Landing on properties lets you buy them, build stuff, collect rent, just like the classic game. Pretty straightforward start.
But here’s the ‘patrol’ bit, I guess. Sometimes you land on special spots, or maybe after a few turns, you get these little ‘patrol missions’. Had to tap on certain areas on the board map, maybe collect some virtual items, like little badges or coins or something. Felt a bit like busywork, honestly, just extra tapping between rolls.
And the ‘fortune’ part? Lots of chance cards, random events popping up all the time. Some good, giving extra cash or a free property pass. Some bad, making you pay fines or skip a turn. Kept things unpredictable, I’ll give it that. You never quite knew if the next roll would help or hurt because of these pop-ups.
My Routine With It
Played it for a few days, mostly during commutes or just sitting around with nothing better to do. It was simple enough to pick up and play for short bursts. Didn’t require a ton of focus, which was fine.

Built up a few properties across different game sessions, did a bunch of those patrol tasks – tap here, collect that. Sometimes played against the computer opponents, which were pretty easy. Tried a few games against other players online too. Those could get more competitive, people snatching up properties fast.
- Rolled the dice, moved around.
- Bought properties when I could.
- Did the patrol mini-tasks when they appeared.
- Dealt with the random fortune events.
The patrol thing started feeling a bit repetitive pretty quickly, though. Same kind of tasks over and over. Didn’t feel like it added much real strategy, more just… another thing to click while waiting for my turn or for buildings to generate rent.
Overall? It’s… alright. It passed the time, definitely did that. If you really like Monopoly and want a slightly different digital version with a few extra taps involved, maybe check it out. For me, after about a week or so, the novelty wore off. The patrol and fortune bits didn’t quite blend smoothly enough to make it feel like a whole new, exciting experience. Just felt like Monopoly with extra steps tacked on. But hey, that’s just my take after playing it for a bit and seeing what it was all about.
